From Kamakura, we rode the Enoden line to Enoshima, a small island off the coast of Kanagawa Prefecture. It was almost sundown when we arrived, and we were immediately mesmerized by the golden sun reflecting the ocean. We spent a considerable amount of time basking around the shore.
Then we crossed the bridge and walked our way to the small touristy island, and went straight to Enoshima Shrine. It was like walking on a set of a Ghibli movie.
The narrow street lined with cute little shops and restaurants gave it a traditional feel accentuated with a modern, artsy touch.
A torii welcomed us in the shrine. It’s like taking a trip down memory lane, an interesting cultural encounter. (Will be uploading the videos soon!)
Sunset hues plus the panoramic view of the Shonan Coast. What more could I ask for?
The sun bursting in hues of pinks and reds, taken just a few seconds apart. Sunsets always leave me in awe. Breathtaking view.
We went down the shrine and made our way to Sagami-ono where we strolled and shopped, and capped off the long day with a nice full meal.
Till my next weekend excursion! Here’s to chasing sunsets and pursing dreams.
