It’s been a while since I’ve written a life lately post, so it’s only fitting to do one today.
It’s 1:52 p.m., and I’m finishing my third cup of iced chocolate on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I’ve set up a nice ‘home office’ in the veranda and I couldn’t be happier. Just being surrounded by the evergreen conifers, cool summer-almost-autumn breeze on my cheeks, and natural light makes my heart full. All while listening to La La Land’s City of Stars and ahhh, perfect.
I’ve loved this spot at night, my favorite place to hangout and chill over good music and a bottle of vodka. But now that I’ve made a cozy nook out of it during broad daylight, it makes me love it more. Perfect spot for me!
So how’s my life lately?
After realigning life choices and revisiting my goals, I’ve set up my reading list, to-watch list, and must-visit list with one goal: personal growth.
There’s so much to do in Tokyo, I feel engulfed and overwhelmed sometimes. Like the other day in Daikanyama, I visited a library and I never felt so small, looking at all the books I haven’t read, all the information I don’t know. All the movies I haven’t seen, music I haven’t listened to, places I haven’t been to.
So yeah, my immediate reading list:
- Anne Frank: A Diary of a Young Girl
- Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar
- Paolo Coelho’s The Winner Stands Alone
And more. But these are the books I currently have, just sitting on the shelves, waiting for me to flip every page.
I’ve also been watching a lot of movies lately. I’ve ticked off about 10 Studio Ghibili movies already, (will write reviews, promise!), and planning to watch more before I visit the museum. Yesterday, I finally watched the award-winning La La Land. Ugh, so much feels. Drowning in tears! Dramatically beautiful! Still on a movie high right now, srsly like I’ve been listening to the soundtrack since last night.
My immediate movies to watch list:
- Dunkirk (because English movies don’t hit the theaters in Japan until after five months or so. Sad.)
- Spiderman (yes, because see above haha)
And GOT sepanx is real!!! It always made my Mondays more pleasant. Huhu.
And of course, more matsuris and photowalks and catching up on my blog posts. 😊
